Resumen de PlaneShift
El objetivo de PlaneShift es crear un mundo de fantasía virtual en el que un jugador puede comenzar como un campesino en busca de fama y convertirse en un héroe. Nos enfocaremos en la reproducción de un mundo real con política, economía y muchos personajes no jugadores controlados por el servidor que darán vida a nuestro mundo incluso sin jugadores conectados!
Queremos dar acceso gratuito a todos, sin necesidad de comprar el juego o pagar una tarifa mensual. Los servidores y el ancho de banda serán donados por patrocinadores.
Nuestro mundo virtual es persistente, y esto significa que puedes conectarte a él a cualquier hora del día o de la noche y siempre encontrarás jugadores y NPCs vagando por nuestros reinos. Podrás desconectarte y volver a conectarte, el servidor guarda el estado actual de tu personaje, incluyendo sus posesiones.
Utilizarás un programa cliente para interactuar con nuestro mundo, que te permite tener una vista 3D de los alrededores.
Nota: Aunque el software se clasifica como gratuito, en realidad es donationware. Por favor, considera hacer una donación para ayudar a apoyar el desarrollo.

Nota: hemos cambiado la forma en que construimos el cliente de Mac, así que por favor danos tu opinión si experimentas algún problema.
- Diálogo de NPC mejorado. Al hablar con NPCs, ahora tienes la opción de hacer clic en las burbujas para definir la velocidad de lectura.
- Tres nuevas pieles de cliente con nuevo arte para botones, menús, etc... : Llamas, Leyenda, Clásico.
- Posibilidad de dar un nombre a un saco en tu inventario. ¡Esto simplificará enormemente la organización de tus objetos!
- Creación de Escudos. La creación de escudos ha sido rediseñada, condensada en 4 libros para menos confusión, todas las partes de los escudos ahora son fabricables. ¡Dos nuevos escudos especiales, hechos de metal azul, ahora están disponibles!
- Creación de Arcos: ¡Una buena noticia para los arqueros y artesanos, la creación de arcos ahora está disponible!
- Creación de Hachas y Espadas: Las empuñaduras de hachas y cuchillos ahora son fabricables.
- Magia: ¡4 nuevos hechizos están disponibles para Cristal y Camino Azul!
- Revisión del Pozo Aullante: ¡un misterio acecha en las sombras del pozo!
- ¡Dos nuevos jefes han sido diseñados y desplegados en el juego! Desafiantes para luchar y ganar.
- Accede a Las Puertas de Bronce con un pterosaurio, a través de una misión.
- Para la investigación de hechizos, un mejor mensaje del sistema te dice si la falla se debe a un hechizo que no existe.

PlaneShift is in constant development, and that is not going to change - new content will continuously be added. Right now the game is being moved to Unreal Engine - less problems, more possibilities, nicer looks! Of course there will be a Mac version for Unreal Engine! And the game will stay Fully Free to Play - no hidden costs whatsoever!
Ease of use: 4.0
Some parts of the interface still need improvement, mainly when it comes to Crafting. For the rest of the interface you will need some minutes to get used to, and then it will be no real problem.

Lots of content, not only standard stuff (NPCs, monsters, quests, locations,...) but a huge amount of lore. There are four in-game libraries, but can you find them all?
Customer support: 4.0
In-game chat, messaging system, and help channel, forums, Discord channel. Helpful players. But since the game is created and run by volunteers, answers may take a day or two.

Is this game still in development? Is it still even working because I can't get any downloads for Max.

This is about version 0.4. I am still using that thing on a 1 GHz-iMac G4. And I can say, though the game still lags often, it has gotten a whole lot better. Playability in the wilderness for example is great, as in most other areas.
And the game itself: It has evolved and everyone interested in finding kind people with an interested to roleplay should give this one a try. Though the world is not that big, there are numerous quests to solve that might keep you busy for some time. And there are a lot nice, strange, friendly, weird... whatever players around that will be happy to roleplay with you.
For newbies: Seek out the ps-forum on their website or their wiki. Most questions are answered there, so the start in this world should not be as steem as it was once.

I've tried out several iterations of this game on a 1-GHz iMac with a 64MB-GForce 4 MX and 1.25 GB of RAM. And while some elements where added to the gameplay and I liked the graphics and character-creation and the missions), the game itself didn't get faster, no, the latest version seems to be slower than ever before, even when using the simpler city-map without grass.The range of playability on the above mentionend configuration starts at "not much fun" to "completely unplayable" in the main town of the gaming-world, where I could count the seconds between each step of my character. It even did something I've never seen before with any other app: it slowed down the animation of Apples's spinning beachball. The idea might be nice to have a free alternative in this game-genre, but I think everyone with enough money to buy a fast-enough Mac won't worry too much about paying for commercial (and better) alternatives. And those that can't afford one won't have much fun with this game.
